26 is a "real" adult

Today I'm 26. There's no sugar-coating it anymore. I'm not a kid anymore. Well actually I have 2 kids and have been married for 2 years and have had a house...so maybe I haven't been a kid for awhile. Maybe I mean being 26 means by this age you should have your shit together, no excuses. Ugh.

Today Rick and I went out for a yummy lunch-no kids!- at a place we used to go many many moons ago. Before kids. They're Sweet Potato fries and Feta dip are THE best! And there cheesecakes are quite decadent. Rick and I split a piece because they are so rich. Somehow I was able to drag him to see the new SATC movie. But it was no easy feat, and actually that movie wasn't at all that great. I just had to go because it came out on my b-day and I used to like the show.

My sister bought me this awesome cardigan from H&M and the new Hole CD. I love Courtney Love and always have. The CD's pretty good too. Rick bought me my skates a few months ago and all my pads. That was a b-day/ wedding anniversary/ Mothers' Day gift. I know it's a triple whammy, but all that stuff was quite $$$ and times aren't what they once were. Needless to say I'm a happy girl.

...And on the cloth diapering front. I bought an adorable "wet bag" on etsy.

Cute huh? And it's so tough finding CUTE boy things!

I bought another cloth diaper for night-time. We'll see how it works, he may just wear a disposable at night if he leaks or gets too uncomfortable. All in all, good so far!

Adventures In Cloth Diapering

Warning: To those of you that don't have kids, don't plan on CD'ing or don't even know why I'm talking about this stuff on my blog- I apologize. Kind of. This is my blog and just choose to skip this post. I don't have a separate blog for separate issues because this is ALL my life. Babies, cute clothes, shoes, lifestyle, etc.

Cloth diapering is something that interested me from the beginning of my first pregnancy. Some may ask why? Why on earth would you want to do that? I grew up cloth diapered- for the most part. Rick was a product of the 70s and was as well. I know it's a commitment and disposables are easier. But I wanted the challenge and they're better for you baby, environment, pocketbook (Hopefully. They are quite a bit of an investment :-/ ) I didn't go through with CD'ing with my older son, and as my baby is now heading towards his first birthday I've decided to take that big step. I kick myself in the ass for not thinking about it from the beginning of his life, but really want to start. And I think he'll have another two-ish years left in dipes. We'll see how it goes. My sister thinks I'll burn out. Rick doesn't have an opinion...yet. So we'll see. All I can say is that I'm happy with my decision right now. I'm currently washing a prepping them. Hopefully he'll be wearing some later today.
Aren't they cute?

My favs

I love make-up. I don't wear it everyday, but when I do- I go all out. And usually I wear make-up more often than not. But two kids kicks my ass and sometimes I'm just too tired. Here's what I wear- and swear by!

I'm a big lover of MAC, I've even thought of trying to get a job there, because they're bad-ass!

Face: moisturizer and primers vary. I hate their primer. Don't get it. It's dry, starchy and too thick. I'm using Laura Mercier's primer because my friends swear by it. I also have their moisturizer and skin polish. Their stuff is quality and you can use a dime-sized amount and that's all you need. It is pricey though.

I've also just bought Smashbox Photo Finish Foundatiopn Primer in green to correct redness. I've yet to use it so I can say much about it other than it had good reviews.

-MAC concealer in NC20 and this brush

-I use L'Oreal True Match in C3, which I've found is comparable to my old MAC studio Fix Liquid in NW20. It's a third the price and just as good. I use this brush to apply it.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Light-Medium to set it, using this brush.

I also use Guerlain Meteorites in Mythic using this brush.

Eyebrows: eyebrow pencil in Spiked, Concrete eyeshadow to fill them in, applied with this brush.

Eyes: (for waterproof) I'll use Liquid Last in Point Black, for everyday I use Fluidline in Black Track. I love it! I use this brush.

Black pencil eyeliner in Ebony just around the rim of my eyes.

Eyeshadows vary but I love RetroSpeck. It's the first one I bought and my favorite still. I also like the now phased-out Springtime Skipper that's a light shimmery green. Both are MAC as well...

Mascara: I use Fibre Rich Lash, but am not completely sold on it because it clumps within a few months. I know mascara doesn't have a long shelf life, but it shouldn't be so clumpy. Before the clumps though, it makes my lashes so long they look fake. And I love fake, exaggerated lashes!

Blush: MAC Dame or NARS Orgasm using this. The best blush brush ever!!!

And I keep all my brushes tucked away and organized in this. Yes, as I've said before...I'm a MAC freak and I love all my brushes organized! If only my house was this organized...

Lips: I've tried so many reds over the years and always come back to Russian Red. It's a little dry, but not as bad as Ruby Woo, which I wear too. But Russian Red is my favorite by far. I also like NARS lip gloss in BloodWork and have MAC's Pro Long Wear Lip Colour in Lasting Lust. I also love this one because it doesn't budge. It's a great red and stays on through dinner and lots of kissing. I wore it in my wedding and it stayed on all night. Didn't lose it's color, but is dry too. I think all the best reds are dry...

Lip liners: MAC Cherry and/or Brick

Fav scent: Flowerbomb

I know this seems like a lot of money- and it is. All my brushes are great quality and should last forever. That's how I justify it. And I've collected them over several years. I'm very good with my products too and seem to ration them out to last a long time.
I also believe in the quality of a product and I don't use a lot of cheap make-up. It's your face! I'm also lucky enough to get gift cards towards this stuff for b-day and x-mas, etc.

I hope my reviews and suggestions help if anyone's on the fence about a color or product. I wanted to do a step-by-step, but I can't find my camera charger. Again. So maybe some other time...

Not So Bad. Not So Great.

*I apologize for the lack of make-up. I was up past 1 AM!

In the third pic you may notice fat roots on the side of my bangs, that's because I'm trying to go back to just a strip of blond in the middle instead of half my bangs being blond. I liked the strip more, but decided it would be easier to dye myself if I had less to separate. I don't like it though. Too Cruella. Though I love Cruella...

The roots are a little too bright still. I left the bleach on for over an hour and it still didnt lift the way I'd hoped. And then the toner took funky. I don't get it. I've done this process a lot now. And this is the first time I'm not that pleased.

Lookin' Like A Hot Mess!

Keeping it real. Scary how real, huh? I'm still around, but busy. I want to blog, but it's hard to find my groove. So I shall show you what I'm doing right now. Bleaching my own hair in the most unorthodox way. Don't ask. Obviously I have no skill or method. Just shear determination. Nasty roots, and an empty pocketbook can do that to a person. Hopefully it turns out decent. I will post a pic tomorrow either way.

Blog Award!

Wow, I won an award!?! It's still surprising to me that anyone reads my little ol' blog! And I am beyond flattered!

The rules go like this:

1. Thank & link to the person that gave you the award.

2. Pass this award onto 10 bloggers.

Atomic Mama gave me this snazzy blog award. Yay! Coincidentally, she picked all the same bloggers I would have chosen. So here is 10 random facts about me:

1) I spend WAY too much money at Target.

2) It bothers me a lot when people can't be themselves, they worry too much about what others think and have no imagination of their own. I don't know why it bothers me so much. Sometimes I obsess over it and that's just toxic.

3) I'm my own worst critic.

4) I talk like a surfer. Maybe since I used to be one.

5) I've never had any cavities.

6) I'm the oldest of my siblings.

7) I'll be 26 in 18 days.

8) I wish I knew how to swing dance. It's one of the things on my Bucket list.

9) I have SO many dresses and shoes, but I hardly ever wear them.

10) I'm a Gemini.

Here's a post from a few years ago I did about myself that gives 100 random facts about me :)

"Cinco Drinko"

It seems that everyone in So. Cal pretends they're Irish when St. Patricks' Day roles around, as well as Mexican when Cinco de Mayo roles around. (I just happen to be both. *ahem*) Last night I overheard a couple guys trying to flirt with a bartender, "Cinco drinko is like a Mexican St. Paddy's Day!" Okay dumbass! And everywhere I went people kept saying "Cinco Drinko". Ugh.

Anyway...Rick and I had so much fun here! If they come by yer' neck of the woods you should definitely go. You won't regret it! What a show! My pics aren't the best. My camera is old and I didn't want to bring my nice Nikon. So I apologize...

*We waited in line for a drink FOREVER!

*She was REALLY good.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new dress. Rick bought it for me at Target yesterday. It's absolutely wonderful. I skipped around the house all day yesterday- and I don't usually skip!

Still Sleepy

Mondays are no bueno for me. Ugh. I'm still sleepy :(

Yesterday Rick and I went here. It was nice and laid back and fun. Just how I like it! I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pics to show. Kim Lenz was amazing! Hope everyone had a great weekend too!

Where My Heads At...

*Really excited about this! It'll be my first, but I've wanted to go to one for so long. It'll be awesome for sure!

*Finally bought the much talked about "Ruby Woo" lipstick by MAC. I've passed it up for many years, choosing Russian Red instead. And I must say... a little let down. I like Russian Red WAY more, even though it is rather dry. Actually it seems like most MAC reds are. I have MAC red too (less dry) and Dame (which I think was discontinued, much skinnier case and actually quite nice, but not as bright, more of a brick color).

*Getting greener. I already use reusable shopping bags, unless I forget mine at home :0 But now I'm buying little individual glass dishes to make my own microwaveable stored freezer dinners in bulk. Well like 5. So far, so good. But get back to me in a month when I might be sick of cooking so much!

*Trying to get more into photography. Just for myself. No business angle. I really want PhotoShop Elements!

*Roller skating! Rick bought me a pair of Riddells. And I'm in love! But still breaking them in- which sucks! I feel like an old lady always complaining about my arches hurting. I've only fallen once, but man did my ass hurt! It hurt a lot more than falling on skates at 10. Maybe cuz I got more junk in my trunk! Hahaha...but not too much junk, I am losing that baby weight. Not at my pre-Cashie weight, but I see my goal in sight. And Cash is 10 months old now. So basically it took 9 months to gain, and probably about a year or so to lose. Baby steps I suppose.

*Coveting these Vivienne Westwoods. I'm really getting into flats these days. I was against them for years, but now I'm loving just a select few. And actually surprised to found my faves at Target for $8.40? Score! Unfortunately I can't find anymore in my size to stock pile!
