I'm just sitting here, sipping down half a Guinness (cuz I used the rest to marinade a pair of steaks), and a quarter of a Corona (cuz I used the other 3/4 to make onion rings)....and just thinking about what a kick-ass wifey I can be when I want to. Yeah, I don't de-clutter often, I sweep and mop when I feel like it, but I'm a good cook! Or at least pretty good for being self-taught! So now I'm just wondering, when does my name get added to my husbands canvas, or carcass? He wanted to a few years ago and I shot it down. Actually, I told him to get it on his ass in cursive like girls used to! HAHAHA!!!! So mean! But he loves me anyways!
*Rick's 1st Birthday*
Today is the ol' ball and chain (I kid Rick, if you ever run into my blog again...) 36th birthday. Yikes, you're really getting up there babe! But you don't look a day over 26 or 28. At least that's what everybody usually guesses his age to be. So in honor of my babe's b-day, I'm making the dinner he requested: steak, baked potato, and a salad. I threw in the onion rings because I felt like challenging myself. How Americana, right? I also pulled out his baby book and read him his stats. He is such a guy! He didn't even realize he had a baby book!
(He was 7 lbs. 4 oz. and hot pants were a popular way to dress, according to some of the facts in that book!)
*The little naked man on Rick's chest!*Oh, and Rick got this freaky looking
Kewpie in memory of his grandfather, who had a very similar Kewpie done in the 1930s. Rick's brother got one too, but a more modern one with the same sentiment. The initials are his grandfather's, and my son bares the same middle name as he, in memory as well. Since there had never been a photograph showing his grandfather's "original" Kewpie, his tattoo artist had to skim through some books and do his best. When Rick's mother and father saw it, they said the face looked almost identical. Of course, all in blue, because they only had 7 different types of ink back then! Eventually, possibly even next week the will be a rope on the top, so right now it looks like Kewpie has a ponytail, or a Hare Krishna- which really irritates Rick when I say that, but it does!
So Happy B-day babe! Hope you like you're dinner!
