More BallBands...

Here are the dishclothes I knit specifically for MicHELLe (my sister-in-law to be), as a housewarming gift. I'm beginning to get very attached to them as they sit nicely on my dresser, waiting for all the ends to be weaved in. They would all look so nicely in my kitchen, I picked the colors to go specifically with my 40s-ish Fiestaware. The colors are so vibrant and exciting. They actually make me want to clean my kitchen, but not with these. Knowing her, they will be on display, rather than be used like any good yarn appreciater. I must knit myself a few of in these colors, my mom is already expecting one in red and blue. They take about 4 hours to make with no interuptions, and after a few I realize why I stop. The first 20 rows can be intriguing, but after that it feels like there are so many other things I should be doing. I don't remember knitting being like that. Maybe it's because the stove is caked in food I cooked from the night before, and the living room is a shambles thanks to Seamus's fondness for chaos and mayhem. Maybe this is how knitting feels to the mother of a 15 month-old.

Here's a pic of the little rascal sharing a orange popsicle with his pops:

I'm sure whatever little bit of traffic my blog has gotten in the past has completly fizzled by this point. I don't blame the few odd visitors that made their way here, probally out of boredom, but I can't even be bothered to update lately. Boo whoo right? Who cares!

Well, me and Seamus* have been attending a Mommy & Me class for a few months now on Fridays (Yippee!!!!). He seems to enjoy it. It amazes me how well he can balance on tiny objects or can dangle on edges of the furniture with such finess that he doesn't fall anymore. The temper tantrums have begun where he forces himself to cry and flings himself on the floor and wails. His new favorite word is uh-oh and he is fascinated by everything that makes a lot of noise. Harley's and trash trucks in partcular. I catch him digging in our trash can and throwing out his shoes. There's nothing like opening the trash can to find a leather stride-rite shoe haphazardly placed on top of the trash. I don't even want to know what I've overlooked.

I'm also in the beginning stages of planning a wedding. We've put it off for over a year because the whole process was too overwhelming. We've finally hit a point where we've just got to do it, set the date, leave the deposit and just go with it. So that's what we've done. We've decided to keep it low-budget since we're the ones paying for it, and we're just trying to have it represent our style. I think that we'll be able to keep it that way too. So we're happy.

Knitting-wise I just finished one BallBand dishcloth that I set aside for a month. My brother-in-law (to be) and his wife just bought a house and I'd decided to knit a few for a housewarming gift (I'm just running a little behind). I love the colors together and will probally knit myself one in the same colourway to match my vintage kitchen and fiesta ware collection.

I've also decided to buy the yarn I need for this sweater, but will make the ribbon red because black and red are my favorite colors. I really need to finish that donkey jacket too before Seamus outgrows it.
