Ignore This Post If You're Sick Of Me Bitching About My Wedding Struggles...

*this is not my wedding dress. This is a dress the women insisted I try on, that was incredibly unflattering and embroidered in gold and silver thread. My expression looks like I'm disgusted and trying to hold back from laughing, but I'm pretty sure I was completely horrified and wanted to run out of the dress shop screaming*

I've been waiting for the "Yay! I'm getting married..." to kick in. It's been a slow process that now more than ever, makes me realize I'm not that girly-girl that has been waiting forever to get married. That's just not me, so I'll cling to the little things that I think are cool about MY wedding. There have been a few things that have bummed me out along the way, but I need to get past them, ignore them and keep on going. I've got 16 days left, and I can't run off now!

This weekend was supposed to be my bachelorette party, but I had to change the date because a friend of mine was going to go to Coachcella. Blah. Blah. Blah. Then we changed it to this coming weekend, but I couldn't find anything cool to do and I had to remind my sister that I'm not supposed to fork out a dime towards it, and we're all broke. And the same bridesmaid who thought Coachcella was more important also neglected to tell me, or any of the other bridesmaids that she has to close her work at 9 PM. WTF!?! So, needless to say, I just cancelled it. Fuck it. Seriously.

So we're looking at maybe the Saturday before Mothers Day. At this rate I don't even give a shit if I do anything, my bridesmaids (well 2 of them) are seriously pathetic.

Rick and I should have had a drive-thru wedding in Vegas on 7-7-07 like he'd wanted too. It would've been cheaper, and it would be so apparent how pathetic my friends are.

My Little Boy And His Future Ex-Wife

That's just the pessimistic-side of me. Who am I kidding, it's all pessimistic baby!

Yesterday my little boy had a play date with his future ex-wife Gwennie. They are so freakin' cute together and look like they could be twins or brother and sister. That might get creepy if they ever do get married...

And the little player kept calling her Emma, after his other little girlfriend he plays with weekly. Typical male, can never keep their names straight.

Maybe a sign he'll be a future player?

Domestic Swag!

I'm sure you will all waiting on pins and needles for post-bridal shower view of my domestic swag.

I wanted to wait for Rick to help with photos, but I got my hair DID today and Rick wasn't around...so wait the hell! I'm bored and my hair looks awesome and I have an excuse to get dressed up. Basically all my ducks are in a row for me to take the pictures today. Right now!

Here are a few of my favorite things...(that song from "The Sound of Music" is totally playing in my head right now.)

My pretty new red blender is gorgeous! It has a paint job like a hot rod and I love it!

And look! I got my KitchenAid mixer! Yippee! Thanks mom! This is the biggest deal in my kitchen!

A peacock colored Fiesta pitcher...

Oh-la-la, what's this? Kate Spade china!
Fancy a cup of tea? This is the fine china I picked out, and probally one of the things I was MOST excited about. I can't even explain why I'm so stoked. Maybe because I found china that didn't look like it belonged in an old ladies cabinet. (And it had polka dots on it!)

A better picture of the Kate Spade china.

Now all I need is a new set of knives...

I love this picture! I look like a psychotic housewife! Hahaha! Beware Rick. Beware!

Hey Chickies...

I blogged yesterday, but it wasn't saved because of "maintenance". I guess I should have paid attention to the big bold warning when I started the post...it wasn't about anything important anyway.

I've decided that due to lack of knitting news, I will do a little something different every week. Nothing huge.

You'll see!

*kisses*

Omen?

So far this week, Rick and the maid-of-honor have had dreams that the wedding was a HUGE disaster.

Right on! *sarcasm*

26 days and counting...

Hello, There...

Sheesh. I haven't blogged in awhile. I start a post, but never finish it. I have done some knitting, but I've already given it away and forgot to take a picture of it. Bad knitting blogger, right? I also wanted to post a couple pictures from the bridal shower, but I only took two, and they are a little random. And I have a stupid red line in every picture I take because digital cameras suck. So, I plan on taking pictures of my swag atleast. But that will have to wait for a later day, when I have my photographer (Rick) helping me.

Here's a very unflattering one I took of one of the bridesmaids being wrapped in toilet paper for 'Project Runway Bride'. I'm sure she would kill me if she saw this picture...

And Rick with his precious "crystal" that he obsessed over us just HAVING to register for.

I've sold two items on eBay, the horrific polyester bride wedding dress I've been so tempted to burn; and a dress I expected to get more cash for. Both items sold for way less than I had hoped, so I kind of feel jipped and apprehensive to sell anymore stuff. I've decided to put my earnings towards this. In red, of course.

What else is new? Rick, Seamus and me went to DisneyLand on a whim yesterday. It didn't go as smoothly as it had in October, the kid was a bit more whiney and exausting. Only two pictures were taken.

We've also hired a DJ for the wedding reception. We met him at the Puka Bar,he was the right price($) and was spinning some good tunes while we were sitting at the bar. Rick and I have been trying teach ourselves a couple of moves from you tube, but between the two of us...it's a horrendous sight. Hopefully a month is enough time to make it look like we know what we are doing! Hopefully.

Now we're off to Gorman for a weekend of dirt biking with Rick's brother and his family.

Tough Girl Put In Check

Sick, again. But life goes on and things still need to get done.

I used to always think I was so tough. Went to downtown LA yesterday to pick up the dress I decided to buy for the bridal shower. I've never had a problem there before, but almost got mugged yesterday. Totally freaked me out. There's something about having my toddler on my hip that suddenly made me feel more vulnerable. A man that only knew a few words of English asked for change, I said I had none and went a few feet further, where I waited to cross the street. I noticed him eye my purse on my shoulder that was unzipped, so I was a little more cautious, as he kind of drunkenly lunged for it, I snapped back and looked at him. He made a couple more failed attempts with me facing him. I looked around for someone to help me, a business man, or someone who wasn't a variation on this guy. Another homeless man on the opposite corner seemed to be sizing people up as well. It was around 12:30 in the afternoon on a busy street and I couldn't believe that I never seemed to worry before. It isn't the worst part of downtown L.A. by far. I've come here many times before, but something about being alone with a small child made me a more feasible target. Probably that I wouldn't run after him or something. Needless to say, I'll just pay for shipping next time. It's probably cheaper than driving my gas-guzzling SUV anyway.

Are All Gemini's This Indecisive?

Indecisive me took my sailor pin up suit off eBay. I kept a few other things I really won't miss up, but realized sometime that night how cool I thought it was. In fact, my busting-from-the-seams closet is chock full of memories. Yes, I rarely wear them anymore, but I've got some freakin' cool stuff in there. As I was hanging all the clothes back up that I'd contemplated selling, I realized I just couldn't. Not at this time atleast. Way too cool. Rick looked at me like he couldn't believed it just finally clicked. Duh.

There are a few items I can part with. Like 3 pencil skirts that are exact replicas from the 50s, and never looked all that flattering. I know I'll be taking a drastic price cut on them, but I bought them a long time ago and I've learned what works on my body-type. I'm also selling a cute little stretchy dress that I purchased before I was pregnant (back late in 2005) and realize that I will probally never feel confident with my post-baby bod to ever wear it. It seems to be a big hit from the eBayers in Finland. I've heard that there is a large faction of rockabilly/psychobilly-ers out there.

Enough banter, already!

My bridal shower is this Sunday at a tea room I've never been to. I have convinced myself that I don't need a new dress for the occasion, but doesn't it seem like a pretty good reason (exuse) to get one? Seriously. And I totally think I've found a couple of decent candidates.

I called up the company that makes this and bugged them to find one lying around in my size, even though I hadn't been on the waiting list. They were really helpful and called me a few different times to let me know the status. It is now on hold waiting for me to get my greedy hands on it.

I instantly fell for this dress too. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday, if I'm lucky ;)
